Deadline to Register Your Community Association in Miami Dade County is February 1.

The Consumer Protection Division has launched a Community Association Registry database for Miami Dade County. Board County Commissioners believe it is in the best interest of the residents of the County to ensure transparency by requiring all condominium, cooperative and homeowner’s associations as defined in Chapters 718, 719 and 720 of the Florida Statues. Miami-Dade community associations will need to renew their registration online with Department every 12 months following initial registration.

The intent of this ordinance is to provide a central, online, publicly accessible registry of such information and documentation. Through this registry, residents of housing governed by such Community Associations can easily and quickly access important information and key documents pertaining to such Community Associations.

Community Associations will be able to submit their initial registration online via the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources Plan Status and Application Submittal Portal here.

By Feb 1 of each year all Miami-Dade community associations governing residential properties must register. Failure to comply with the ordinance will result in violation fines of $200 for the first violation, $500 for the 2nd violation and $1000 for the 3rd violation.

Board Members should confirm with their community association managers that the registration has been completed.
